Tuesday Tell All - Great Grandparents

Do you remember your great-grandparents? What do you know about them?
I didn't personally know my great-grandparents as they were born in the 1880's, in fact I only had one grandparent still alive when I was born, but I know a fair bit about them, at least I feel like I know them. We named our son after my great-grandfather who I felt a particular connection to. One of the stories that I likes about him and his wife was that at dinner time they would set an extra place at the dinner table incase a beggar came by their house who was hungry, I love that act of charity and that they placed themselves in a position where they were ready to act on good impressions immediately.

I was able to attend the General Relief Society Meeting last night, and it was amazing (obviously:). I really loved President Uchtdorf's talk about the delicate and often overlooked, Forget-Me-Not flower. He said:  


"There is something inspiring and sublime about the little forget-me-not flower. I hope it will be a joyful symbol of the little things that make your lives joyful and sweet."

Tuesday Tell All - Fall!

With Fall now here, what is something that you look forward to about it?

As for me, I love, love, love Fall. I love the cooler weather, all the Holidays and family time that comes with it, all the yummy food, and excuses to eat sweet treats, and this year more than most I am looking forward to welcoming another baby girl into our family in 58 days - wooohooo:)

Hatch, or Go Bad

I really liked this quote from a talk called "That Summer House in Babylon" by Sharon G Larsen at the 1999 BYU Womens Conference: 


 "According to the great Christian theologian C.S. Lewis, Christ says, "Give me all. I don't want so much of your time and so much of your money and so much of your work: I want you.... Hand over the whole natural self, all the desires which you think innocent as well as the ones you think wicked - the whole outfit. I will give you a new self". Lewis goes on,"The terrible thing, the almost impossible thing, is to hand over your whole self - all your wishes and precautions - to Christ. But it is far easier than what we are all trying to do instead. For what we are trying to do is remain what we call 'ourselves', to keep personal happiness as our great aim in life,....to let our mind and heart go their own way - centred on money or pleasure or ambition - and hoping, inspite of this, to behave honestly and chastely and humbly. And that is exactly what Christ warned us you could not do.... When he said, 'Be perfect,' He meant it. He meant that we must go in for the full treatment. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary decent egg. We must be hatched, or go bad".
