Well this was our first Christmas with our kids actually living in the States. We'd been in Africa for our all our kids' childhood except for visits to family and latter-stages of pregnancies when I'd fly home to deliver. Our kids loved it.
Of course some of the more commercial aspects of Christmas that they'd never experienced weren't desirable, but other experiences were very enriching. Some of our friends did the 12 days of Christmas for us and my kids thought that was the "coolest thing ever."
It was nice that my children could experience some of the traditions I grew up with around Christmas time.

I was spending my last Christmas alone.
