Tuesday Tell All - Parental Lessons

What are some lessons that you learned from your parents?

  1. If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.

    OR

When someone was mean or hurtful, my mom's response was always "Kill 'em with kindness"

  2. When siblings would whine because they felt "squished" or bugged because someone was "touching me!", whether in a car, or standing at the sink sharing the chore of dishes.......my mother would repeat what my grandmother always said,..

"There's ALWAYS room if you LOVE each other." ; )

It stuck to us so well, that even my youngest brother, who is a police officer still says it to this day when he is stuffing drunks into the back of a small paddy wagon, and they are complaining of no more room for him to stuff even more in. lol!!! You should see the passengers' faces when he says the above quote to them.

  3. My parents are the best parents in this whole world..

I learned how to help others even after knowing that those people won't help you back when you will need them :-)
